British sprinter Chijindu Ujah took sixth place in the 100 metres on his Diamond League debut in Paris on Saturday.

The 20-year-old, who is fighting it out with James Dasaolu for the third sprint place in the British team for August's European Championships in Zurich, finished with a time 10.20 seconds as Michael Rodgers claimed victory.

Ujah had run a time of 9.96secs in the Netherlands last month, becoming just the fifth Brit to complete the 100m in under 10 seconds.

Dwain Chambers and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey have already guaranteed their spots in Zurich after they came first and second at last month's British trials.

Dasaolu missed the trials - where Ujah came third - through injury but ran 10.03secs in Lausanne on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Laura Muir and Laura Weightman both ran personal bests in the 1500m, won by Holland's Sifan Hassan.

Muir clocked 4.00.07 to finish sixth and set a new Scottish record while Weightman ended up eighth with a time of 4:00.17.

Elsewhere, Shara Proctor came fourth in the women's long jump while Tiffany Porter was fifth in the women's 100m hurdles in 12.72secs. Niall Flannery was seventh in the men's 400m hurdles.
