Tiredness prevented rising British sprint star Jodie Williams from extending her incredible 151-race winning streak as she finished a narrow second in the 200m final at the Junior World Championships in Canada.

Williams, 16, won the 100m on Wednesday and was looking to match her double gold from the Youth Championships last year and it took a 19-year-old, American Stormy Kendrick, producing a personal best time to beat Williams, who said she was feeling the effects of six races in four days.

Kendrick ran 22.99sec to beat Williams' 23.19sec, while Dutchwoman Jamile Samuel ran third.

Williams told the IAAF website: "I had 12 hours sleep last night because I was absolutely shattered after the 100 metres. Six races in four days is an awful lot. Not having enough sleep the night before last, wasn't good."
