Gay targets Bolt's 150m world record in Manchester

Tyson Gay is out to challenge Usain Bolt's 150m world record next week, despite the fact it is the American's first race of the year on European soil.
Gay will kick his season into gear at the Powerade ION4 Great City Games in Manchester, which begin on May 15.
The sprinter, who is the second fastest man in the world, has an eye on striking a psychological blow to rival Bolt, by taking away one of his landmarks ahead of the World Championships in South Korea.
Gay defeated Bolt when the pair last met, and there is growing belief in the American that he can reach the Jamaican's exceptional standards. Defeat in Stockholm was the first Bolt had suffered in two years, and Gay is targeting another triumph - despite Bolt's absence - in Manchester.
"It's my first competition of the year but maybe if conditions are good I might be able to run fast," said Gay.
Bolt's 150m record stands at 14.35s.
