All Blacks winger Cory Jane has been ruled out of his side's eagerly-anticipated clash with England at Twickenham on Saturday.

The Hurricanes speedster was forced out of New Zealand's 26-24 defeat to Australia in Hong Kong last Saturday with a rib injury and although scans confirmed there were no broken bones a deep haematoma to his left chest wall will sideline him for this weekend's game.

The news is a further blow to head coach Graham Henry following the loss of fellow winger Sitiveni Sivivatu to a tour-ending knee injury before he has even linked up with the rest of the squad.

Following Henry's decision not to call up a replacement, Joe Rokocoko, Hosea Gear and Isaia Toeava - who replaced Jane against the Wallabies - remain in the mix to fill the two wing berths against England.

"We are intending to pick the best side for each Test mach and the best side that played last week may not be the best side for this week," said Henry following the end of his side's 15-Test winning streak. "We haven't spoken about it [England] as selectors ...but we haven't had a map about the team we will pick over the next few test matches."
