Wallabies assistant coach Jim Williams has insisted that they will be ready to hit the ground running should the Millennium Stadium's roof be left open for Saturday's showdown with Wales.

Showers are forecast in the Welsh capital and coach Warren Gatland has hinted that they may opt to leave the match open to the elements, an eventuality that could stifle the Wallabies' free-flowing game.

Williams dismissed the speculation however, insisting that his side will not be fazed by the weather - or perhaps the latest in a long line of Gatland mind games.

"Everybody wants to see good rugby and whatever conditions are suitable for that," he said. "It's not a major concern of the team. We have prepared the same way we always do, if it is closed it is closed, if it is not it is not.

"It's always been closed when I have played or coached here. It's not really a major factor. If it's open and conditions aren't suitable you have to adapt your game, so it's not a major concern. We'll prepare how we need to prepare."

Williams also dismissed Wales' current injury problems as 'part of the game'. The hosts will be without Ryan Jones, Leigh Halfpenny, Lee Byrne, Jonathan Davies and Jamie Roberts for the fixture.

"I know they have injuries but every team does, it's part of the game," he said. "But they won't be lacking in intensity and effort and they will be playing in front of a passionate Welsh crowd with a great atmosphere. Hopefully it will be a great game.

"We were impressed with what Wales did in the early stages of their two Tests in New Zealand in the summer. The challenge against the All Blacks is to do that for 80 minutes and that is very difficult. That is something we have found as we have started well in our last few games and found it hard to finish well, and consistency throughout our game is what we are aiming for."
