Australia hooker Tatafu Polota Nau has pulled out of the Wallabies' clash Italy in Florence on Saturday.

Polota Nau is a late withdrawal from the squad after failing to recover from an injury suffered during the Wallabies' 20-14 victory over England at Twickenham last weekend. He is replaced on the bench by Reds hooker James Hanson.

Hanson, 24, made his debut for the Wallabies last month in the 18-18 draw with New Zealand and will cover for Stephen Moore who starts against the Azzuri.

Meanwhile Australia lock lock Rob Simmons will have his appeal against an eight-week ban for a tip tackle against France heard on Tuesday.
