  • Heyneke Meyer has returned to the Blue Bulls as their executive in charge of coaching.

Meyer, who won four Currie Cups and the Super 14 with the Bulls before an ill-fated stint with Leicester, will oversee all coaching structures at amateur and pro level and oversee talent recruitment when required.

Bulls coach Frans Ludeke has also signed a new three-year deal after winning both the Super 14 and Currie Cup in 2009.

  • Western Force scrum-half Brett Sheehan is hoping that his move from the Waratahs will revitalise his Wallabies career. Sheehan has three Test caps but has watched from the sidelines as Reds No.9 Will Genia has made the Wallaby jersey his own.

"Will (Genia) has done really well and taken his opportunities, so good luck to him but there's a long time between now and the start of the Wallabies' games next year and I haven't given up on my dream of playing for the Wallabies," Sheehan said.

"I still believe I have plenty to offer at that level, I hope to have a good off-season and then season with the Force to put my name back up there to show that I deserve an opportunity. I am looking at having a really good pre-season from here, then to jump out of the blocks in February and put my best foot forward for the Super 14 season."

  • Springbok Sevens coach Paul Treu has named his contracted players for the forthcoming IRB Sevens World Series and also his squad for the opening tournaments in Dubai and George.
