Lote Tuqiri will play his final game for Leicester this weekend after being granted a release in order to link up with NRL side Wests Tigers.

Leicester face London Irish at Welford Road on Saturday and the club have confirmed that the dual-code international will bid farewell to the Premiership following the game.

Tuqiri came to England following his sacking by the Australian Rugby Union in 2009 and played 13 games following his debut against South Africa in November.

Before switching codes and winning 67 Test caps for the Wallabies, Tuqiri won international honours with Fiji and Australia in rugby league. His return to the 13-man-code was widely predicted before his short spell with Leicester.

"I've really enjoyed my time in Leicester. They've been very good to me and the guys have been excellent in accepting me here and helping me to settle in England," he said. "Leicester Tigers and the supporters have been terrific to me and my family. We wish the club every success in the future."
