Harlequins flanker Chris Robshaw will lead England against the Australian Barbarians in their opening tour match in Perth on Tuesday.

Robshaw is the only capped member of England's back five in the scrum, with Gloucester's Dave Attwood, Leicester lock Geoff Parling, Leeds flanker Hendre Fourie and Wasps No.8 Dan Ward-Smith all set to make their debuts. Attwood will make his full debut after impressing during England's win over Barbarians

Lee Mears and Ugo Monye bring experience to the side, with Charlie Hodgson named at fly-half in place of Jonny Wilkinson who is still recovering from injury. Mears joins Bath team-mates David Wilson and David Flatman in the front row, while Bath's Olly Barkley starts at inside centre.

England manager Martin Johnson hopes his triumphs on Australian soil will help guide his side to victory, with next year's Rugby World Cup firmly in his sights. Australia began their Test season with a workmanlike 49-3 win over Fiji in Canberra on Saturday, with the first meeting with England falling on June12.

"We want to win the Test, we want to develop young players, that's the balance," he said in The Times. "But we're not here just fulfilling fixtures, there's a World Cup in 2011.

"A lot of young players have never been on a trip like this, it's not like being in a Test match back home. We have guys who have been involved in a Lions tour but England haven't done anything like this for ten years."
