Jim Williams has left his role as Australia's assistant coach after his contract with the Australian Rugby Union ended.

The former Australia back-rower, who won 14 caps for the Wallabies, was appointed as assistant to head coach Robbie Deans in 2008 and was the forwards coach during the recent World Cup campaign. Strength and conditioning coach Peter Harding has also left the Wallabies coaching set-up.

ARU general manager of high performance David Nucifora said: "Both Jim and Peter have been heavily involved with the Wallabies since joining ARU in 2008 and have been a part of many great highlights.

"We thank them for the commitment and enthusiasm that they have shown and wish them all the best in their future endeavours."
