15. Israel Folau (Waratahs)

Confirmed with his Man-of-the-Match performance against the Chiefs that he is a rising star, and showed the aerial skills for which he was synonymous in rugby league. He also showed great defensive skills to claim his second Team of the Week selection of the season, and also put himself in prime position to face the British & Irish Lions.

14. Rod Davies (Reds)

Followed up his two-try performance against the Chiefs with another score against the Brumbies, and looked threatening whenever he had ball in hand in a tight contest.

13. Robbie Fruean (Crusaders)

Robbie Fruean is yet to recapture his form of 2012, but he produced a powerful performance against the Highlanders after spilling the ball the first twice it went to him - and his try just before half-time and his straight lines throughout the game were key as the Crusaders regained winning form.

12. Jan Serfontein (Bulls)

The 2012 IRB Junior Player of the Year produced a sublime performance against the Southern Kings in Port Elizabeth, named Man of the Match after a series of electrifying runs produced a linebreak, a try and a try assist. He looks set to feature for the Springboks this year.

11. Digby Ioane (Reds)

Produced a series of powerful breaks and dangerous runs against the Brumbies to show he remains the best and most damaging winger in Australia.

10. Morne Steyn (Bulls)

Morne Steyn doesn't do flash, but he produced a superb tactical kicking performance to put the Bulls in control of field position in Port Elizabeth, and he was key in ensuring the Southern Kings, so competitive on tour in Australia, were never a factor back in front of a rabid home crowd.

9. Alby Mathewson (Force)

The best Western Force player on the paddock against the Hurricanes, and he directed the visitors nicely as they threatened a surprise comeback win against his former team after he scored a wonderful solo try.

8. Ben Mowen (Brumbies)

Inspirational both as a player and as a captain against the Reds, by deed and virtue, and showed, perhaps, that he should be the Wallabies starting eightman in what will surely be a highly physical series against the British & Irish Lions.

7. Arno Botha (Bulls)

How ironic that George Smith and Liam Gill, the subject of so many headlines last week, miss selection, having perhaps nullified each other, but Arno Botha produced a performance that showed exactly why the Bulls have dismissed recent talk that he will quit the franchise at season's end.

6. Dave Dennis (Waratahs)

The Waratahs captain was strong as his team stunned the Chiefs, in the first half, in particular, and wasn't it great to hear him talk positively after the game rather than grumbling about the Tahs needing to improve this, that and the other.

5. Sam Whitelock (Crusaders)

Dominated the Highlanders lineout with an individual performance that laid the foundations for the Crusaders' victory.

4. Luke Romano (Crusaders)

Where Sam Whitelock dominated in the set-piece, Luke Romano gave the Crusaders go-forward and strength in the loose. They are a dynamic partnership, two halves of the whole.

3. Jeffery Toomaga-Allen (Hurricanes)

The Hurricanes front-rowers have produced a series of solid performances this season, and Jeff Allen is just the latest to cap a strong effort with a try.

2. Chiliboy Ralepelle (Bulls)

Adriaan Strauss seems to have a lock on the Springboks jumper, and he produced another powerful performance against the Sharks, but Chiliboy Ralepelle was simply superb in all facets as the Bulls dismantled the Kings.

1. Coenie Oosthuizen (Cheetahs)

Made a major impact on his return to the starting side, strong in the set-piece, powerful in defence and barnstorming in the loose with 45 metres from seven runs in a physical contest.
