Queensland Reds and Australian Sevens winger Luke Morahan has been called into the Wallabies squad ahead of the Test Series against the British & Irish Lions, replacing Joe Tomane.

Tomane was ruled out of the opening Test in Brisbane after fracturing his left in training on the Sunshine Coast on Monday. Tomane, like Morahan, has played just one Test, against Scotland in Newcastle in 2012. The Brumbies will remain part of the squad, however, as he is expected to recover in time to be available to play some part in the second and third Tests.

Morahan, who produced a sparkling try-scoring performance for Queensland against the Lions at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, has since been in camp on the Gold Coast with the Australian Sevens team preparing to contest the IRB Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow. He will join the Wallabies in Caloundra on Wednesday.
