Super Rugby mundane, nothing changed since 2001

I thought it was very interesting that Stormers captain Jean de Villiers came out, after all the years he has been playing, and said the competition was getting very mundane.

The competition needed a shake-up, he said.

Super Rugby needs to be re-invigorated to make it exciting again.

Nothing has changed since I finished playing Super Rugby in 2001.

All Blacks come back at the start of the season and say, "Here we go again." And that was what I thought away back then; I know exactly how de Villiers feels.

When the players want something like that, it is time to take notice.

I am not sure SANZAR plans to increase the competition by two teams is helpful. Expansion doesn't address the question of how you jazz this competition up to make it the best in the world.
