The Greg Growden Medal
Israel Folau claims top spot
June 23, 2014
Israel Folau has claimed top spot over his team-mates after another strong performance against France saw him receive top points for the third Test. Making several breaks around the field and busting through for a try early in the second half, Folau was impressive alongside his fellow NSW Waratahs team-mates who scored all of the Wallabies 39-points.
Fellow Waratahs Wycliff Palu, Adam Ashley-Cooper and Michael Hooper also impressed to claim points for the final Test. Palu made several busting runs and huge tackles, while Hooper and Ashley-Cooper were work-horses around the field.
But it was the huge lock Will Skelton who received eight-points for his strong performance after impressing in his debut Test match with barging runs, big hits and the opening try for the match. His strong ball-carrying and hard-hitting tackles saw him receive a standing ovation from the crowd, high praise from Growden and a move into third spot on the table.
