With just one round to go, Waratahs captain Michael Hooper and Force No. 8 Ben McCalman are fighting it out to win the Greg Growden Medal for the best Australian-based Super Rugby player.

Both Hooper and McCalman scored seven points on the weekend, with each instrumental in their side's important road-to-the-finals victories. Hooper made his presence known at the front, while McCalman dominated around the park.

However the standout performances and the highest points of the round went to Waratahs No. 10 Bernard Foley and new Queensland Reds centre Samu Kerevi, who each received 8.5 points.

Foley was a clear man of the match against the Highlanders, while Kerevi, who seemed to make a break every time he touched the ball against Western Force, was the only Reds standout in an otherwise gloomy night for the Queenslanders.

Two Rebels players earned themselves points with captain Scott Higginbotham and flanker Colby Fainga'a the stand outs for the Rebels in a tough match up against the Lions in South Africa.
