Five-eighth Bernard Foley believes the Wallabies must go back-to-basics if they are to recover any pride after a disappointing Rugby Championship campaign. Australia will face the All Blacks this Saturday in Brisbane, a fixture they haven't won since 2011.

The out-of-sorts Wallabies were consistently out-performed in the Rugby Championship, only managing to score two wins from six matches and Foley believes this weekend's Test on home soil is a perfect opportunity for redemption.

"Everyone is looking forward to making up for [our last game] and getting a bit of retribution. They went up a gear, we were left behind. Everyone is looking at settling the score," Foley told Fairfax Media. "To have them on home soil is a great advantage for us. The trip [to South Africa and Argentina] was disappointing but hopefully we have learned a lot from it."

After attending a children's rugby clinic at Napean Park in Penrith last Thursday, Foley believes he rediscovered why he fell in love with the game all those years ago and has urged his fellow Wallabies to do the same.

"I was a kid and played for the love of it, not for the career," Foley told Fairfax. "We are very fortunate to do it and that motivates you for the next time you play."

While the Wallabies team has yet to be announced, one player that won't be taking to the field on Saturday is Kurtley Beale. The fly-half was found to have sent inappropriate text message to Wallabies business manager Di Patson resulting in him being suspended indefinitely by the ARU.

ESPNscrum's Greg Growden says that while there are no excuses for Beale's actions, there are other relationships between Wallabies and ARU officials which are also "uneasy".

The Wallabies will hope to shift the focus away from the off-field distractions with a win this weekend, and Foley says while it has been tough they should only be critiqued on their on-field performance.

"Last week was a difficult week for us, but in the end we get judged on 80 minutes."
