Israel Folau doesn't know what his future holds beyond 2015 but it may yet come down to a call between coaches Wayne Bennett and Michael Cheika.

Folau is contracted to the Australian Rugby Union through to the end of next year's World Cup but he is set to be bombarded with a number of offers over the next 12 months as he makes a decision on a career that has taken him from the NRL to the AFL, and on to rugby. The Waratahs and Wallabies fullback is a massive fan of Cheika, the man who first convinced him to join the 15-man game, and his promotion to the Australian role has boosted hopes Folau may stay in rugby long term.

But the former Melbourne Storm and Brisbane Broncos back has also revealed his admiration for Bennett, whose second coming in Brisbane has just begun.

"Everyone would love to play under Wayne," Folau told News Corp Australia. "Everyone says good things about him. He's certainly a great coach but moreso they talk about him as a great person."

Cheika's ascension to the Wallabies job, along with the ARU's recent change in policy on sabbaticals, may yet be enough to retain Folau although Japanese and French rugby clubs loom as major players as well. A number of NRL clubs are also likely to be interested and the Broncos could well be at the top of the list.

Meanwhile, Folau says he has no desire to follow former NRL star Jarryd Hayne to the NFL. "I think it's a huge move for Jarryd and hopefully he does well," Folau said. "For me, I still have things I want to achieve in rugby. "I enjoy watching the NFL, but you've got to have a real passion to make that transition and have a real crack at it. I don't have the passion for the game that Jarryd does."

However Folau does believe there are other players who would be suited to the American game, namely South Sydney star Greg Inglis. "Greg Inglis is the first name that comes up. He's pretty talented. I think he'd do quite well."
