Henry Speight will front a judicial hearing on Tuesday afternoon for a dangerous tackle during the Brumbies win over the Stormers on Sunday morning (AEST). The Brumbies wing received a red card in the 74th minute and is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 for a dangerous/lifting tackle.

The law states lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player into the ground whilst that player's feet are still off the ground such that the player's head and/or upper body come into contact with the grond is dangerous play.

In the final minutes of the match Speight tackled Juan de Jongh off the ball and lifted and dumped the player on his head. If found guilty the Brumbies will face their semi-final clash against the Hurricanes without their star winger.

The Brumbies have stated they will fight the charge in a bid to have the wing available for Saturday's clash in Wellington. Brumbies chief executive Michael Jones told Fairfax Media Speight didn't feel he had lifted De Jongh and would fight to clear his name.

"We're going to go through the hearing process, that will happen at 4pm on Tuesday by video conference," Jones said. "[Speight] wants to put his case there and best-case scenario he gets off."

Speight had the opportunity to plead guilty and accept a sanction Sanzar duty judicial officer Nigel Hampton set down, but the Brumbies chose to contest the charges and now may face a higher suspension if found guilty.
