Israel Folau commits to Waratahs and Wallabies

Israel Folau will play for NTT Red Docomo Hurricanes in the Japanese Top League after this year's Rugby World Cup in England.

Folau on Wednesday re-signed with the Australian Rugby Union on a flexible three-year contract, but said his management were still working on the finer points of the flexible conditions. It didn't take the Wallabies full-back too much further time to reveal his Japanese destination however, Folau taking to Twitter to announce the Red Docomo Hurricanes as his first overseas club.

Under the deal, Folau will play through the Japanese Top league season before returning to the Waratahs for the 2016 Super Rugby season. He told reporters on Wednesday a move to Sevens for the Olympics was unlikely, conceding he was happy playing the 15-man game for now.

Folau will then likely head to Japan again at the end of 2016, seeing him miss the Wallabies' spring tour of Europe.
