Michael Hooper has claimed his third Matthew Burke Players' Player Cup at the Waratahs' Awards night for a third consecutive year. After another standout season for the Waratahs, where he helped lead the side to the semi-finals, Hooper became the first Waratah to win the award three times.

Blitzing his team-mates, Hooper easily beat out Israel Folau and Will Skelton for the accolade. The award capped off a stellar year for the flanker who led the side in number of tackles made and led the forwards for run metres. He was also ranked equal second for most tackle busts and assists, and third for most line breaks of his team-mates.

In just his third season, Folau continues to amaze and after another strong season, he was awarded the Best Back for the side, while Skelton was also rewarded for his hard efforts during the season to take out the Best Forward award.

Outgoing Waratah Wycliff Palu was also recognised for his efforts both on and off the field and was rewarded the Waratah Medal for his outstanding contribution to the club and wider rugby community.
