Streisand keeps Cats out

Cats coach Laurie Mains has expressed his anger over the owners of the Sydney Football Stadium's decision not to allow the Cats onto the field before their Super 12 match on Saturday due to a Barbara Streisand concert taking place on Friday evening.

Mains says he wanted the players, especially the kickers, to be on the field in the evening to get used to the atmosphere and the floodlights.

"This is against the rules of Sanzar under which the Super 12 is played. According to the rules, a visiting team is allowed to practice a day before a game on the home team's field.

In the meantime the NSW Rugby Union has expressed concern about the effects of the Streisand concert and this weeks heavy rain may have ahead of the Waratahs/Cats clash on Saturday
