Clark restored as Canadian coach
November 26, 2001

Australian Dave Clark has been reinstated as Canadian coach after the new executive board of Rugby Canada voted unanimously to return him to the position he was sacked from in August.

When Clark was sent packing by the old board on August 1, more than 60 of the nation's leading players went on strike and three Tests against Australia, Ireland and Scotland were cancelled.

But the man he replaced in charge of the Canadian team, new president of Rugby Canada, Pat Parfrey, moved quickly to have Clark brought back after the previous board was ousted on November 12.

"The vote was unanimous," Parfrey said. "The board are prepared to work with Dave Clark and help him to build towards the 2003 World Cup finals."
