Australian coach Eddie Jones was far from fully satisfied following his side's 21-13 win over Wales in Cardiff on Sunday.

This was their last Test of a European tour which has seen defeats against England (21-15) and against France (14-13) remove some of the shine from the world and Tri-Nations champions' halo.

"In the end we lost one game by a point, another by six points and won here but there's still a lot of hard work to do in a number of areas," Jones admitted afterwards.

"The Australia team is going through a period of flattening out, we knew it would and it's not a bad time for it to happen," added Jones with the next World Cup not until 2003.

"But this side had six changes in it from the one we had in our last Tri-Nations match. The game is going through a very muscular period and there are a number of our players who've got to improve in certain areas. But this tour has been a step up for us."

Jones said of all the sides his team had enountered England had stood out. "Their level of play against us was very impressive and they played just as well against South Africa."
