Wallaby boss wants big tests every year
November 28, 2001

Wallabies coach Eddie Jones wants to play test series against the likes of England and France every year.

Jones doesn't think one-off Tests like the ones his team has played recently against England, France and Wales give a true indication of which team is superior, using the British and Irish Lions series in Australia earlier this year as an example.

"It's certainly something I'm going to bring forward to the ARU but I don't know whether we're going to have much success in terms of the scheduling," Jones said.

"It's something we should look towards because it gives you a real chance to maybe work on areas you were outplayed the previous week and gives you a chance to really move your game forward.

"Everyone likes to see a clear winner and loser and while you see that in one-off Tests, a series will really show you who's the better team."

While Australia will get the chance to gain revenge against France in a two-Test series at home next year, their only clash with England in 2002 will be another one-off match in November.
