Reds v Bulls - Preview
April 11, 2002

VENUE & TIME: Brisbane - Friday - 19:35 AEST
HEAD TO HEAD: Reds 4 Bulls 0
LAST TIME: Reds 29-19 - Pretoria

WALKING WOUNDED
Halfback Sam Cordingley returns to the bench, but is still in some doubt with a shoulder injury and is bracketed with Ben Wakely.
Bulls coach Heyneke Meyer has made five changes. At inside-centre, Etienne Botha comes in for the injured Boeta Wessels; Hakkies Husselman starts at halfback over Norman Jordaan; and former Springbok winger Gavin Passens replaces Giscard Pieters. In the two changes up front, Wessel Roux takes over from Christo Bezuidenhout at loosehead prop and James Dalton is back in the starting line-up in place of Danie Coetzee.

FORM
It's taken them seven weeks, but the Reds finally discovered their scoring potential in the 49-46 win against the Stormers. Six tries was a marked improvement on the 12 from the previous five games. Although letting in five tries was an equally dramatic turnaround.
Much the same story for the Bulls ... this time a last-start 49-15 loss to the Crusaders. The worst defensive record in the competition and the second worst attacking record tells a sorry tale for the Bulls.

WHO'S HOT
Wendell Sailor may not be scoring tries but he's impressing the bloke that matters, Wallaby coach Eddie Jones ... "He ran with the ball 13 times and broke six tackles. They are good stats for anyone and they will be the norm for Wendell as he learns the game more." Fullback Chris Latham also continues to make Jones' dilemma over Wallaby fullback an easy call.

KEY MATCH-UPS
Wendell Sailor v the tryline ... Come on Dell, this story is getting boring.

WE THINK
The Reds really need to win to close the gap on fourth spot ... but if they drop this one against the Bulls then they don't deserve to make the semi-finals. Reds by 17.
