Brumbies v Hurricanes - Preview
April 11, 2002

VENUE & TIME: Canberra - Sunday - 14:35 AEST
HEAD TO HEAD: Brumbies 5 Hurricanes 1
LAST TIME: Hurricanes 34-19 - Wellington

WALKING WOUNDED
The Brumbies have a few concerns over flanker Owen Finegan (knee), Jeremy Paul (ankle) and Peter Ryan (shoulder). Coach David Nucifora said he would give all the players as long as possible before finalising the side.
Hurricanes coach Graham Mourie has made two changes to the side that lost the Highlanders. With Campbell Feather injured, No 8 Jerry Collins has moved to the blindside flank and Rodney So'oialo will start at No 8. Dion Waller has retained his place at lock despite concern over his attitude and commitment.

FORM
The Brumbies had the week off with the bye and will have had plenty of time to think about their last-gasp 33-32 loss to the Crusaders.
The Hurricanes really put in the hard yards against the Highlanders, but came away with a 19-10 loss thanks to some classy Jeff Wilson play. They led at the break, but offered little in the second-half.

WHO'S HOT
Hurricanes centre Tana Umaga is a leading contender to win the prize for most consistent player in the tournament at the moment. Another contender would be Stirling Mortlock ... they meet on Sunday.

WHO'S NOT
The Hurricanes'attack. Umaga, Cullen, Lomu, Alatini is an impressive package, so why is it that only South African stragglers Bulls, Cats and Sharks have scored less points?

KEY MATCH-UPS
Graeme Bond v Jonah Lomu
Stirling Mortlock v Tana Umaga
Justin Harrison v Dion Waller

WE THINK
The Hurricanes won this corresponding game last season and really need to do it again to stay in touch with the top four, particularly as they have the bye next weekend. It's a tough ask, though, with the Brumbies looking to bounce back from their one-point loss to the Crusaders, and it's rare for them to drop two games in a row. Brumbies by 12.
