Sailor admits road rage

Queensland's Wendell Sailor has admitted breaking a truck window in a road rage incident in Brisbane on Saturday.

Sailor has apologised after an argument with two other men on Brisbane's Western Freeway that finished with him smashing the truck's window because they cut him off in traffic.

"Yesterday I was involved in a vehicle incident, a traffic incident that I thought endangered my life," Sailor said. "Unfortunately and regrettably a window was broken in the incident.

"The two guys that were involved they obviously thought it was a laughing matter, but I thought it was a bit more personal than that.

"Unfortunately it was a window that was smashed in the incident but I didn't think I was in the wrong and I'm very sorry that happened and I regret that it did happen."

The men reported the incident to their employer who has contacted police but doesn't want to press charges, only to be compensated for the damage done to the truck.

"He already spoke to the police today and they said you have to file a report to get compensation for the window," one of the men, Tony Scott, told Channel Ten. "That's all we really want."

Reds coach Mark McBain knew of the incident before the win over the Waratahs, but says he wasn't concerned in the least that it would affect Sailor's performance.

"I spoke to him (Sailor) last night and I knew it wasn't a problem," McBain said. "His explanation was that it wasn't a drama and he was fired up and ready to go. Wendell did his bit out there today and that is what it was all about."
