Dwyer rings in changes
May 8, 2002

Manuel Edmonds and his brother Huia have both forced their way into the New South Wales team for the clash with the top-of-the-table Crusaders in Christchurch on Saturday night.

Manuel comes in for five-eighth Duncan McRae while hooker Brendan Cannon makes way for Huia who is to make his starting Super 12 debut.

Coach Bob Dwyer said the Edmonds brothers have been picked on form although Dwyer made the selections knowing a home semi-final is virtually secured and it gives him the chance to give fringe players much needed game time.

In other changes to the team that lost to the Queensland Reds last weekend Jone Tawake will also make his starting debut at blindside flanker.

Dwyer is still waiting on the fitness of injured openside flanker Phil Waugh who will travel with the team to New Zealand. If his ankle again rules him out, his position will most likely go to Des Tuiavii.

Tom Bowman has joined Jono West as the starting locks, with Van Humphries named on the bench.

The wingers are Scott Staniforth and Francis Cullimore, with Marc Stcherbina on the bench, while Patricio Noriega and Matt Dunning are the starting props.

Matt Bowman is on the bench while Rod Moore has been ruled out with a hand injury.
