Kefu, Waugh set to miss
May 10, 2002

Reds centre Steve Kefu and Waratahs flanker Phil Waugh both look set to miss their team's final Super 12 matches on Saturday.

Kefu missed last Sunday's win over New South Wales at Ballymore with a shoulder injury, and after struggling again during his first training session in two weeks on Friday, has been ruled out of the Highlanders game, with his place to be taken by Junior Pelesasa.

While Kefu is out, fullback Chris Latham will start even though there have been suggestions otherwise because of a bicep injury.

Waugh meanwhile continues to struggle with the ankle problem that has caused him to miss the last couple of matches, and is almost certain to miss the Waratahs' clash with the unbeaten Crusaders.

With coach Bob Dwyer to make a final decision on Waugh on Friday afternoon after he received rehabilitation work on his ankle at training, Des Tuiavii looks likely to be named in the starting line-up in his place with Steve Talbot to be on the bench.
