Maori sweep Waratahs aside

The New Zealand Maori proved too strong for the Waratahs' in Sydney on Saturday night running out winners 43-18.

Maori fullback Willie Walker and winger Joe Maddock ran in two tries each as the visitors ran in seven tries in their final wamr up game before taking on Australia next Saturday.

Missing key players - skipper Matt Burke, David Lyons, Mat Rogers, Chris Whitaker, Brendan Cannon and Patricio Noriega, who are in camp with the Wallabies - the young Waratahs started well and midway through the first half held a 13-5 lead.

But Walker crossed twice while Maddock grabbed another to steer his side to a 19-13 halftime lead.

For the Maori it was a vast improvement on the performance that saw them go down 28-25 to the Reds on Tuesday.
