Brumbies search for new sponsor
September 10, 2002

Super 12 frnachise the ACT Brumbies are looking for a new sponsor after Computer Associates announced they were changing their arrangements next season.

ACT Rugby Union general manager Mark Sinderberry reported the Brumbies were searching for a new naming rights sponsor after the American software company that had backed them for the past four years said they were planning to downgrade their level of support in 2003.

But Sinderberry said in a statement that he expected the Brumbies, Super 12 champions in 2001 and finalists in 1997, 2000 and 2002, would have few problems attracting a new sponsor, particularly with the World Cup in Australia next year.

Computer Associates said they would retain a relationship with the Brumbies, but are believed to have slashed funding by around two-thirds as a result of continuing financial pressures following the terrorist attacks on September 11 2001.
