Rogers ordered to rest
September 23, 2002

Wallaby Mat Rogers has been advised to rest his shoulder for the upcoming tour of Europe, ruling him out of the Sydney club rugby finals.

The former rugby league star turned out for Randwick for the first time against Sydney University on Saturday, but after aggravating a shoulder injury that has troubled him in the past, has been told it would be better if he allows it to recover.

While Rogers ultimately requires an operation on his shoulder, he will put it off until after November's Test tour to Argentina, Ireland, England and Italy, preferring to get by in the mean time thanks to intensive physiotherapy.
