Italy coach Nick Mallett has named a 30-man panel for the forthcoming Six Nations, with his squad set to convene in Rome on January 24 as they prepare to kick off their campaign against reigning Grand Slam champions Ireland in Dublin on February 6.

Conspicuous by his absence is talismanic skipper Sergio Parisse, who will miss the entire tournament due to a knee injury sustained while on duty with the national team in November.

Rovigo's Riccardo Bocchino and Francis Minto of Parma are the uncapped players while veteran Gloucester lock Marco Bortolami, Racing Metro centre Andrea Masi and Treviso fly-half Andrea Marcato all return to the squad.
