One of the most closely contested rivalries in world rugby's latest chapter will unfold at the Stade de France on Saturday when France take on the touring Wallabies for the Trophee de Bicentenaires.

Since their first meeting in 1928 the sides have packed down across from each other on 39 occasions, with Australia shading the spoils 20-16 with two draws. Australia convincingly won their last Test series in the summer of 2008, putting an inexperienced French squad to the sword on home soil.

Robbie Deans' Wallabies go into the match off the back of a rousing win at Twickenham last weekend, while Matrc Lievremont and France have put together wins over Argentina and the Pacific Islands in recent weeks.
