The Barbarians have confirmed that they will tackle Australia at Twickenham later this year.

The Baa Baas will play host to the Wallabies at English rugby's HQ on November 26 in the latest instalment of a rivalry dating back to 1948 when the world-famous select side beat their southern hemisphere rivals 9-6 at Cardiff Arms Park. But Australia hold a commanding 8-3 lead in the all-time statistics having claimed a comprehensive 55-7 win when the two sides last met in Sydney two years ago and an 18-11 success in a high-profile clash at Wembley Stadium in 2008.

Speaking ahead of the Barbarians' clash with England on Sunday, president Micky Steele-Bodger welcomed the fixture and immediately set his sights on adding Australia's scalp to that of New Zealand and South Africa who have both been beaten in the corresponding fixture in the last two years.

"Our autumn matches at Twickenham against international touring sides are invariably one of the highlights of our season," said Steele-Bodger. "Our two most recent games there have been great spectacles and the victories over the All Blacks and Springboks have captured everyone's imagination.

"Our fixture against Australia next November provides us with a unique opportunity to complete an historic hat-trick so once again we will be inviting world-class stars to make up our team."
