Barbarians fixtures:

  • England v Barbarians, Twickenham, May 26
  • Barbarians v British & Irish Lions, Hong Kong, June 1

The Barbarians have confirmed the 28-man squad that will take on England and the British & Irish Lions this summer.

The squad is a blend of experienced, battle-hardened internationals and those who are towards the start of their rugby career. Dai Young will preside over the squad and will work alongside player/coach Mike Tindall.

Alongside the previous batch of players, the Baabaas have called up six more players for duty with Italy prop Andrea Lo Cicero and Saracens hooker Schalk Brits both included. They have also drafted in ex-Wallaby second-row Dean Mumm and monster flanker Samu Manoa. In the backs, Timoci Nagusa is handed a call-up alongside Wasps promising youngster Elliot Daly.

"We are very pleased with the final composition and strength of the squad," tour manager Derek Quinnell said. "Obviously because of play-off finals in Ireland and England on May 25 a handful of players will not be available for the first match against England but we have covered that by inviting 28 players. We also believe there is a healthy balance between proven test experience and promising young talent who will benefit enormously from the experience."
