London Irish have received a huge boost with the news hooker David Paice has signed a new contract which keeps him at the Exiles until the end of the 2016-17 season.

Paice has eight caps for England and has played at London Irish for the last 10 years. Paice is Irish's vice-captain for the weekend's game against Worcester and is delighted to have signed his new deal with the Exiles. He said: "It's great to have the deal done so I can now concentrate on London Irish and the season ahead. The club has been great to me over the last 10 years and I had no hesitation in extending the deal."

London Irish director of rugby, Brian Smith, added: "David has been an outstanding servant to this Club over the last decade and we are delighted that he will be here for the next three seasons. He is one of many London Irish players that have represented England in recent times and he deserves to push on for further International honours.

"David has followed Ian Humphreys and George Skivington in signing long term deals. All three are experienced leaders in this squad and it is great to know we can build a squad around them."
