Bath have confirmed the signing of England's Henry Thomas and Nick Auterac from Sale Sharks and Saracens respectively.

Tighthead prop Thomas, who made his debut for Stuart Lancaster's side in the summer tour of Argentina, joins his hometown club after weeks of speculation linking him to a return to The Rec. The 22-year-old moved away from Bath for university before joining Sale , where he made 50 Premiership appearances.

Bath have turned plenty of heads this season, achieving success with an exciting young squad which currently sits third in the Premiership table.

"I'm really excited to be moving to Bath next season," Thomas said. "They're a club clearly on the rise, with a lot of ambition. They also have a very strong pack, excellent coaches and a top squad, so I can't wait to get started there."

Joining Thomas in the West Country will be Saracens Academy graduate Auterac, 22, who made his debut for the Barnet outfit in November 2012.

"Henry and Nick are exceptionally talented, and they have a lot of potential as young players to get even better," said Neal Heatley, Bath's forwards coach.

"They are enthusiastic about learning and improving, which really fits the culture we're building here at Bath. We're very much looking forward to them joining the squad."
