The rugby codes in Scotland have joined forces to help the country succeed in the forthcoming Lincoln Financial Group World Cup.

The Scottish Rugby Union have offered the Scottish league team the Murrayfield facilities to help in their preparations and also throughout the competition.

The first squad session will take place on Monday 23 October which will be the same day the national union team begin their preparation for the autumn Test series and Scotland coach Ian McGeechan insists that the SRU are only too willing to help out.

He said: ``It's great to see the Scotland rugby league players at
Murrayfield. Obviously we are hoping that they have a successful World Cup and we are very supportive of their preparations for the tournament.''

The national league team begin their campaign against Maori on Sunday 29 October at Firhill.

Scotland are the only home nations side opting to stay in Britain during the build up to the competition with England off to the Disney Wild World of Sports complex in Florida, Wales jetting down to South Africa and Ireland going to La Manga for warm weather training.

Scotland Coach Shaun McRea, the current coach at Hull FC, who has assembled a formidable looking squad has said he does not believe warm weather training is ideal preparation for a competition in the British Isles.
