Profile

A formidable second row with a reputation as one of the finest exponents of lineout play, Harrison has made 34 Test appearances for Australia since his debut against the British & Irish Lions in 2001.

On that night in Sydney, he stole a crucial line-out ball from in front of Lions captain Martin Johnson in the series-defining moment. He was also part of the Wallabies' 2003 Rugby World Cup squad that went close to securing glory on home soil. His last cap was against England at Twickenham in 2004.

He made his Super Rugby debut with the ACT Brumbies in 1997 and featured in the side that claimed the Super 12 title in 2001 and was also a beaten finalist in 2000 and 2002. He joined the Waratahs in 2004 and was again on the losing side in the 2005 final.

He later moved to the northern hemisphere with Magners League side Ulster, captaining the province to the Magners League title in 2005-06. He then switched to his current club, Guinness Premiership side Bath, ahead of the 2008-09 season.

Harrison became an important part of the Bath setup quickly, with his aggressive style winning him fans in the West Country. He helped his side to the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup and semi-finals of the Premiership, but his time was cut short when he requested an early release from his contract following allegations of bad behaviour on a club night out.

At a subsequent RFU Disciplinary Hearing he was found guilty of, "actions which are prejudicial to the interests of the Game" and banned for eight months. He admitted taking cocaine and fighting with a member of Harlequins' playing staff during the club's end of season party. He was banned from playing and coaching rugby until January 13, 2010 but despite his suspension he was re-signed by the Brumbies ahead of the Super 14 season and appointed to their leadership group.
