Webster made his England debut against Wales in at Twickenham in 1972, one of six England players to earn their first cap that day.
He made eleven starts for England over a three-year period, and although he never scored a single international point, he was instrumental in England's 16-10 victory over New Zealand in Auckland in September 1973. It was the first away Test win by an home nation against New Zealand.
The former Moseley scrum-half also played for Staffordshire, winning the then County Championship, and was also selected to play for the Barbarians on a number of occasions
