Ospreys flanker Tom Smith is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury on Saturday.

Smith was stretchered off in the 37th minute of the match against Edinburgh and the region have confirmed he suffered a serious injury.

"Tom suffered a significant knee injury and we are carrying out all relevant investigations in order to determine the full extent of the injury and the way forward for Tom in terms of treatment and rehabilitation," a statement from the Ospreys said. "A further update will be issued as appropriate."
