Times are tight and every penny counts, but it seems Gloucester have a problem with adults trying to save money by attempting to get into Kingsholm using OAP or children's tickets.
The new electronic bar code system speeds up entry - and saves the club staff costs - but it has also been an opportunity for a small number of fans to try to abuse the system. It seems some have also tried to use tickets issued at a discounted rate to the military.
"It has become apparent that a small number of supporters attempt to defraud the system in this way, and we would like to stress that we have the means to identify incorrect usage of concession tickets and that, from now on, access will be denied," said a club official.
He added that staff monitoring the gates are alerted when a concession ticket is used and so presumably are quickly able to see that the 18-stone prop squeezing through the turnstile is not actually a small child.
In such instances those using such tickets will be asked to prove their entitlement. If they are unable to do so then they risk having the ticket or season-ticket cancelled.
