Toulon flanker Steffon Armitage has admitted he does not know whether he will extend his contract with the Heineken Cup champions beyond the end of this season.
Armitage has excelled at Toulon but his England prospects have stalled since his move to the Top 14. Amid Toulon's reported interest in British & Irish Lions skipper Sam Warburton, Armitage welcomes the competition for places but, when asked about about where his future lies, he told the Telegraph: "I don't know … There's a lot to think about."
The openside has not played for England since 2010 but says his future will be swayed by what is best for his Test prospects. He added: "I'll never give up on England. I'll do whatever it takes to represent England, but if I decide it is the best option for me to stay here to improve player-wise then I'll do that."
