The famous British & Irish Lions side of 1974 - known as the Invincibles - have been honoured by having a plane named after them.

Eighteen of the squad which won three and drew one Test in South Africa were present at the unveiling of a Q400 aircraft belonging to Flybe at George Best Belfast City Airport.

"Their passion, commitment and determination is legendary and we are delighted to make our own unique tribute to what they achieved and the values they continue to represent," said Flybe director Fred Kochak. "Dedicating an aircraft to such sporting icons is our special way of saying congratulations and a thank you to them."
