Crossing for that first Test try

When Owen Farrell scored a try against the Western Force while playing for the Lions he scored his first Lions try before his first try for England. Is there anyone else who has scored a try for the Lions before their national side? Ewan S, England

Down the years this has been quite common.

Among the 2013 tourists, the following four (including Owen Farrell) notched a try for the Lions before having scored for their national sides in cap Tests:

Alex Corbisiero (against Australia in the third Test);
Mako Vunipola (against Western Force);
Owen Farrell (against Western Force) and
Dan Lydiate (against the Barbarians in the opening game of the tour in Hong Kong).
