Tiger Woods has just become the top money-winner on the American golf tour yet again. How many times has he finished top, and is it the most by anyone? asked Matt Livingstone

Tiger Woods topped the PGA Tour money-list in 2013 for the first time in four years - but it was the tenth time since 1997 that he had finished the season as the leading money-winner in America.

No-one else has finished top so often: next come Jack Nicklaus, with eight, then Ben Hogan and Tom Watson with five apiece. Late last year Woods pushed his career earnings from prizemoney alone past the $100m mark: Phil Mickelson is next on that particular list with $73m.

Woods now has 79 victories on the PGA Tour - only three behind the long-standing leader Sam Snead, who won 82 events between 1936 and 1965. Nicklaus comes next with 73, although that includes a record 18 major titles to Tiger's 14.
