Which F1 team is based at an old RAF base in Norfolk? asked Julia Stone

The answer here is the original Lotus team, which was based - along with the road-car company - on the site of the old RAF airfield at Hethel, not far from Norwich in Norfolk.

Actually there are a lot of old airfields in East Anglia, which was useful for aeroplanes as it's generally so flat.

During the Second World War, the airfield was mainly used by American planes, and was an RAF base for several years afterwards.

The original Lotus company, owned by Colin Chapman, bought the site in 1966, and turned some of the runway areas into a test track.
