There has been a lot of publicity recently for Susie Wolff and Simona de Silvestro joining F1. Which of them is faster? asked Kyle Fielding
I suppose we won't really know the answer to that one until they start racing each other in F1. To date I don't think they have ever been in the same race.
De Silvestro, the Swiss woman who recently joined Sauber as an "affiliate driver", has more single-seater experience - she has taken part in in the north American Indycar series for the last four years, and finished second in one of the last races of 2013, at Houston. She finished 13th overall in the championship last year.
Scotland-born Wolff joined Williams as a development driver in 2012, and the team recently announced that she would drive on the Friday of two Grand Prix race weekends this season.
Wolff drove in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) for seven seasons from 2006, her best positions in a very competitive championship being two seventh places in 2010. Her husband, Toto Wolff, is executive director of the Mercedes F1 team.
