I believe Manchester United have been in the most FA Cup finals. But which team has been in the most without ever winning one? asked Karl Johnson.

Manchester United have reached the FA Cup final 18 times, winning 11, which is another record.

But the team you're after is Leicester City, who have reached the FA Cup final four times - and lost the lot. They first reached the final in 1949 - surviving a 5-5 draw with Luton (they won the replay 5-3) - but lost 3-1 to Wolves at Wembley. In 1961 Leicester went down 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur, who thus completed a rare league-and-cup double; two years later Manchester United beat Leicester 3-1. Finally, Manchester City beat them 1-0 in 1969.

Leicester City have won the League Cup three times - but only one of those triumphs was sealed at Wembley.

In 1964 the League Cup final was still a two-legged affair (Leicester beat Stoke City 4-3 on aggregate home and away), then in 1997 Leicester beat Middlesbrough 1-0 in a replay at Hillsborough in Sheffield, after a 1-1 draw at Wembley. But eventually Leicester did win at the Twin Towers - they beat Tranmere Rovers 2-1 in 2000, in the last League Cup final played at the "old" Wembley Stadium before it was rebuilt.

Everton have lost a record eight FA Cup finals - but they have won five.
